Job summary

The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center is seeking a Staff Nurse for the Acute Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit on the 4th floor at Dodd Hall. You will manage and provide care, assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate and evaluate nursing care for patients 16 and older with stroke and general rehabilitation needs.

Requirements include a 2-year nursing degree with Ohio RN license; BSN preferred; 2 years rehab/acute care experience preferred; 36 hours per week on a third shift, with

Qualifications

• 2-year College Degree in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program is required.
• Bachelor’s degree in nursing with a major in Nursing from a CCNE or ACEN accredited nursing program is preferred.
• Current Ohio license or interim permit required.
• 2 years of experience in rehabilitation or acute care setting is preferred.
• On-going: Maintains current Ohio RN license. Meets mandatory educational and health requirements.

Responsibilities

• Manage and provide care to patients and their families; direct and supervise nursing care by the patient care team.
• Assess, plan, implement, coordinate, delegate and evaluate nursing care in alignment with the professional practice model.
• Utilize med-surg skills including: trach management, wound care, wound VACs, burn dressings, intermittent cathing, bowel programs, line and port management.
• Provide patient and caregiver education.
• Collaborate with the Interdisciplinary Team to ensure quality, safety and patient-centered care.

Education
