Job summary

Sheppard Pratt in Hagerstown, MD is hiring for a full-time direct care position in a day shift, in-person setting. You will support clients in psychiatric rehabilitation programs, help maintain medication safety, and work within a collaborative team to implement individualized service plans.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Willingness to obtain additional certifications and trainings as required.
• Current SERVSAFE certification on hire or within 60 days.
• Driver’s license with 3 points or less and access to insured vehicle.
• Must be available to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Works with clients in group settings to learn or regain skills for successful community living.
• Ensuring medication safety, dosage control, and cleanliness.
• Collaborative service planning with a multidisciplinary team to implement individual service plans.
• Provide transportation to medical appointments and advocate for clients; document follow-up instructions.
• Assist the team with meal preparation and distribution for meals.

Job description

Full- Time 40 hour/week position, dayshift | In Person in Hagerstown, MD

Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) services consist of day programs and supportive living programs. Clients in our day programs have access to group activities, individual support, and mental health services. Clients in the supportive living program receive support in maintaining independent living and have access to the day program.

What to expect.

This is a direct care opportunity to provide support for mental health treatment. You willprovide a safe and therapeutic environmentthat encourages the overall independence and wellbeing of your clients.

Under general supervision, your responsibilities will include:

• Works with clients in group settings to learn or regain skills for successful community living.
• Ensuringmedication compliancewhich involves responsibility for safety, dosage, and cleanliness.
• Working as a part of acollaborative service teamto develop and implement individual service plans.
• Providing transportation and attending clients’ medical appointments. You will provideadvocacy servicesthroughout the appointment and ensure that all follow-up instruction is documented and/or followed through on.
• Assisting the team with meal prep and distribution for breakfast and lunch.

As you spend time with your clients, you will find yourself developing a rapport with your clients whereyou become part of their trusted support system. You will see their wins as your wins as they work their way through the program and cheer them on as they progress in their recovery.

All direct care staff will bethoroughly trainedto provide all services and should expect supportive and ever-present mentorship from senior staff members as they perform the requested duties.

Pay for this position is $19.31/hr.

• Must have availability to workdays, nights, weekends, and holidays depending upon need of the program.
• Requires current, valid SERVSAFE certification upon hire or within 60 days of hire.
