Job summary

Opus Medical in New Orleans, LA, seeks a qualified Case Manager with a rehabilitation background (Bachelor’s in rehab and counseling). A master's degree and national certifications (CCM, CRC, CDMS, or CLNC) are preferred.

You will assess medical information, coordinate with insured, carrier, and attorneys to facilitate return-to-work outcomes. Your responsibilities include managing referrals, maintaining the CM plan, documenting data, and ensuring timely reports.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation and counseling with CCM, CDMS or CRC certification.
• Practice a health or human services discipline allowing independent assessments.
• Complete college program plus ongoing education to maintain certification.

Responsibilities

• Follow all policies and procedures outlined in the case management plan.
• Retain accountability for the CM plan and process.
• Accept all referrals as assigned.
• Confirm assignment with referral source and clarify special handling instructions.
• Initial contacts made according to the case management plan.
• Develop an appropriate working relationship with Clients.
• Maintain integrity and deal with claimants in a dignified manner.
• Schedule initial assessment and obtain necessary approvals from any attorney of record.
• Maintain ongoing communication with Injured Worker, Insured and Carrier.
• Record appropriate data and billing in the CaseAnyplace system for reporting.
• Submit appropriate monthly reports on time (Preliminary, Initial vocational evaluation, Labor Market Survey, Progress and Closing).
• Complete TSA (transferrable skills analysis) and testing to facilitate a full assessment.
• Provide information to Defense and plaintiff Attorneys as appropriate and per state regulations.
• Promote teamwork by assisting and communicating with all AMC staff members.
• Maximize accurate & appropriate billable hours per monthly target (8 hrs/day).
• Maintain certifications/ enhance knowledge by participating in Continuing Education functions.
• Complete all education and training sessions in a timely manner as directed (annually).
• Provide input on support staff performance as appropriate.
• Perform additional professional duties as assigned.
• Retain responsibility for tasks delegated to non-clinical staff and report on their performance.
