Job summary

The University of Texas Medical Branch is seeking a Senior Rehab Aide to assist licensed therapists, therapists' assistants, and students in all treatment aspects to maximize each patient’s functional ability. The role includes patient transfers, direct care under supervision, and coordination with the care team.

Qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent, CPR certification from an approved provider, and minimum experience in rehabilitation settings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Current CPR certification from an AHA-approved course provider.
• Minimum three years’ experience as a rehabilitation aide preferred or required depending on role.

Responsibilities

• Assist licensed therapists, assistants, and students in treatment to maximize patient functional ability.
• Transfers and transports patients safely and timely.
• Communicate with therapists, assistants, students, customers, volunteers, and other aides to maintain workflow.
• Maintain linen, disinfect and sterilize equipment, and track reusable supplies.
• Keep the working environment clean and organized; restock supplies as needed.
• Perform related duties and departmental copying as required.
