Job summary

Brown University Health seeks a Rehabilitation Liaison to perform off-site preadmission screenings, promote the IRF, and facilitate appropriate admissions under the direction of the Director of Inpatient Rehabilitation Services.

Responsibilities include coordinating with referral sources, rehabilitation staff, and medical directors to ensure timely admissions, regulatory compliance, and quality improvement across the rehabilitation program.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a school of nursing and licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in Rhode Island.
• BSN and rehabilitation nursing certification are desired.
• Alternate credentials include licensure to practice Occupational Therapy, Physical Therapy, or Speech Language Pathology in Rhode Island.

Responsibilities

• Perform off-site preadmission screenings and promote Brown University Health’s inpatient rehabilitation facility (IRF).
• Facilitate appropriate admission to rehabilitation departments and coordinate with referral sources.
• Communicate with patients, caregivers, and health care professionals to ensure timely admissions and regulatory compliance.
• Support preadmission financial screening and third-party pre-authorizations as needed.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities and data reporting for admissions and referrals.
