Akron Children’s Hospital in Boardman, OH is seeking a PRN Rehab Technician for on-call coverage during vacations and call-offs. The role provides direct and indirect patient care under the supervision of licensed therapists and serves as a liaison between patients, families and medical staff.

Responsibilities include patient registration, department upkeep, equipment handling, video recording therapy sessions, and transporting patients to sessions.

Responsabilidades

• Handle patient registration duties including scheduling, check-ins/outs, and collecting co-pays.
• Maintain department areas and submit work orders for upkeep.
• Maintain and assemble/disassemble therapy equipment.
• Track inventory and stock supplies.
• Video recording therapy sessions.
• Transport patients to/from therapy sessions.
• Provide direct/indirect patient care under therapist supervision (casting, transfers, toileting, dressing, bathing, positioning, gait training, group assistance).
• Coordinate care between disciplines, providers and family.
• Demonstrate knowledge to meet age-specific physical, psychological, social, educational and safety needs of patients.
• Perform other duties as required.

Summary: The Rehab Technician is responsible for providing direct/indirect patient care to multiple patients under the direct on-site supervision of professional staff. Acts as a patient/family liaison with medical and hospital personnel. Assists with various administrative responsibilities and department upkeep.

Responsibilities:

• 1. Patient registration duties, including, but not limited to scheduling, answering phones, checking in patients, checking out patients, collecting co-pays, etc.
• 2. Department upkeep including preparation of treatment areas and submission of work orders.
• 3. Equipment maintenance and assembly/disassembly.
• 4. Track inventory and stock supplies.
• 5. Video recording therapy sessions.
• 6. Transporting patients to/from therapy sessions.
• 7. Direct/indirect patient care under therapist supervision (casting, transfers, toileting, dressing, bathing, positioning, gait training, assistance with groups, etc.).
• 8. Coordination of care between disciplines, providers and family.
• 9. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care for the physical, psychological, social, educational, and safety needs of the patients served regardless of age.
• 10. Other duties as required.

Technical Expertise

• 1. Experience in a rehab setting working with children with who are medically fragile or have disabilities is preferred.
• 2. Strong customer service skills required.

Education and Experience

• 1. Education: high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• 2. Years of relevant experience: minimum of 3 years is preferred.
• 3. Years of experience supervising: None.
• 4. BLS certification required within first 90 days of employment.
