Job summary

Franklin County Medical Center in Idaho is seeking a Rehabilitation Technician to assist our Physical Therapy team. You will help prepare treatment areas, transport and position patients, and support therapists in delivering rehabilitative care on a part-time, day-shift schedule.

The role requires a high school diploma, completion of rehab technician training, and strong communication. Prior healthcare or student therapy experience is preferred, with basic computer skills and a team-oriented

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of Rehabilitation Technician Training and Competency Program.
  • Prior healthcare experience or current Therapy student preferred.
  • Good written and oral communication in English.
  • Basic math skills for routine calculations.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and teamwork.
  • Basic computer literacy.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Rehabilitation Therapists and Therapists Assistants in delivering care.
  • Prepare treatment areas and transport/position patients.
  • Support with therapy treatment plans and required supplies.
  • Communicate with patients and healthcare team to maximize care benefits.
  • Perform routine clerical tasks to support patient care.

Job Title: Rehabilitation Technician


Department: Physical Therapy


Reports To: Director of Rehab Services


FLSA Status: Non-Exempt


Hours: Part time, Two days a week(8-10 hours per day)


Shift: Days

WHAT YOU CAN DO FOR FCMC:


  • Our Rehabilitation Technicians assist the Rehabilitation Therapists and Therapist Assistants in performing rehabilitative services for our patients. More specifically, some of these vital responsibilities include:

  • Preparing treatment areas and transporting and positioning patients/clients

  • Assisting with the completion of therapy treatment plans

  • Communicating with patients, families, friends, and members of the healthcare team to promote optimal benefits of rehabilitative care

  • Ensuring that needed supplies are available to Therapists and Therapist Assistants

  • Performing routine clerical tasks that support the patient care process

  • Actively participating in ways to improve the program, including providing input into the budgetary planning process, contributing to the cost-effectiveness of services, and establishing and maintaining positive relations with all clients


Requirements

Qualifications:


  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Successful completion of Rehabilitation Technician Training and Competency Program

  • Prior healthcare experience or current Therapy student preferred

  • Good communication skill both written and oral in English

  • Basic mathematical skills to accurately add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals

  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to work cooperatively with team members and patients/clients

  • Basic computer literacy


Essential Job Functions:


  • Regular and predictable attendance is required

  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hand and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist

  • Frequently able to move, push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds

  • Specific vision abilities include close, distance, color, and peripheral vision

  • Must comply with HIPAA and patient privacy

  • Must wear PPE as situations require


Work Environment:


  • FCMC operates 24 hours per day each day of the year: operational needs of departments may require that you be available to work all shifts, weekends, and holidays to meet the needs of the patients

  • Potential exposure to blood, body tissue, fluids, contagious diseases, and hazardous waste

  • Occasional exposure to bodily injury, loud or unpleasant noise, unpleasant odor, and emotional or physical stress
