Job summary

Saint Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park, KS is seeking a Rehab Tech to join our team. The role supports therapists and helps prepare patients for treatment, lifts and positions patients, and assists with ADLs.

The position is full-time, days, with weekend and holiday commitments. You will also help with supplies, transportation within the Rehab Department, and basic clerical tasks.

Qualifications

• Less than 1 year of applicable experience.
• Basic Life Support certification (AHA or Red Cross)

Responsibilities

• Assist therapists with patient treatment activities as directed.
• Help with lifting, transferring, and ambulation of patients.
• Support ADLs such as dressing and grooming.
• Assist with supervised feeding programs.
• Ensure safety for patients, self, and staff.
• Transport patients to and from the Rehab Department.
• Take inventory, order, and stock supplies.
• Set up and clean treatment areas and equipment.
• May mentor or train new technician staff.
• Perform clerical tasks and basic computer duties.
• Take patient blood pressure readings under clinical staff guidance.

• Monday thru Friday 7:30 to 4:00. Weekend and holiday commitments are required
• Participates in lifting, transferring and ambulation of patients and/or equipment
• Participates in ADLs specifically dressing and grooming as assigned by clinical staff
• Assists with supervised feeding programs
• Uses professional judgement to always ensure safety to self, patients, and others
• Transport patients to and from the Rehab Department
• Taking inventory, ordering and stocking supplies
• Issues DME under the direction of the therapist
• Performs set up and cleanup of treatment area including appropriate equipment and supplies
• May be involved in mentoring, training of new technician staff members.
• Performs all other duties as requested by the manager.
• May be involved with clerical and computer skills
• Performs patient blood pressure readings during treatment under the guidance of clinical staff.
