Job summary

Saint Luke's South Hospital in Overland Park is seeking a Rehab Tech to support patient treatment under the supervision of Physical and Occupational Therapists and other clinical staff.

The role involves assisting with lifting, transferring, ambulation, dressing, grooming, and feeding, while maintaining patient safety. The position is full-time with day hours and requires BLS certification and less than 1 year of experience.

Qualifications

• Applicable Experience: Less than 1 year
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association or Red Cross)

Responsibilities

• Performs routine tasks and assists therapists during patient treatment activities as directed.
• Assists with lifting, transferring and ambulation of patients or equipment.
• Assists with ADLs such as dressing and grooming as assigned by clinical staff.
• Assists with supervised feeding programs.
• Uses professional judgement to always ensure safety to self, patients, and others.
• Transport patients to and from the Rehab Department.
• Environmental cleaning.
• Taking inventory, ordering and stocking supplies.
• Issues DME under the direction of the therapist.
• Performs set up and cleanup of treatment area including appropriate equipment and supplies.
• May be involved in mentoring, training of new technician staff members.
• Performs all other duties as requested by the manager.
• May be involved with clerical and computer skills.
• Performs patient blood pressure readings during treatment under the guidance of clinical staff.

Assists in preparing patients for treatment under the supervision of Physical and Occupational Therapists or Assistants, Speech Pathologists and Audiologists, and other clinic staff.

• Performs routine tasks and assists therapists during patient treatment activities as directed.
• Monday thru Friday 7:30 to 4:00.
• Weekend and holiday commitments are required.
• Participates in lifting, transferring and ambulation of patients and/or equipment.
• Participates in ADLs specifically dressing and grooming as assigned by clinical staff.
• Assists with supervised feeding programs.
• Uses professional judgement to always ensure safety to self, patients, and others.
• Transport patients to and from the Rehab Department.
• Environmental cleaning.
• Taking inventory, ordering and stocking supplies.
• Issues DME under the direction of the therapist.
