Job summary

Illinois Bone & Joint Institute in Illinois is seeking a full-time Rehabilitation Technician at our Convent Drive location. The role supports clinicians in delivering quality orthopedic care and helps patients regain function.

You will assist therapists, perform daily clinic tasks, maintain treatment areas, manage equipment, and help with patient education and home exercise programs. The position requires a high school diploma and flexibility to work 40 hours Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.
  • Daily clinic maintenance: cleaning treatment tables and equipment, changing linen, stocking supplies.
  • Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
  • Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.
  • Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
  • Inventory of clinical and non-clinical materials.
  • Follow front desk duties: checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
  • Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management.
  • Protect patient privacy in line with HIPAA guidelines.
  • Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.

Job Description IBJI, Chicagoland's premier orthopedic medical practice with several Chicago and suburban locations has a Full-Time Rehabilitation Technician opening at our Convent Drive location. The Rehabilitation Technician role is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to gain experience in an orthopedic physical therapy setting.

The Rehabilitation Technicians are responsible for assisting clinicians in delivering quality care with the goal of improving a patient's overall quality of life and function.

  • Provide excellent customer service and communication to therapy patients, therapists, physician staff, and clients in a fast paced orthopedic rehab office.
  • Daily clinic maintenance: including but not limited to cleaning treatment tables and equipment, change out linen, stocking supplies.
  • Keep exercise equipment in an orderly fashion and out of the way of patients to maintain safe conditions in the clinic.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly checks of maintenance tasks to stay compliant with IBJI guidelines.
  • Act as an extender to the therapists; assist clinicians with carrying out exercise programs for patients including set up on equipment and modalities.
  • Communicate with therapist on any observations made during the patient\'s exercise program.
  • Take initiative in assisting clinicians with patient care.
  • Print home exercise program for patients under the direction of the clinician.
  • Inventory of both clinical and non-clinical materials.
  • For clinics that utilize techs for front desk support, follow best practice procedures that involve clerical duties: including but not limited to checking in patients, scheduling appointments, taking co-pays, scanning, answering the phone.
  • Provide daily support to the rehab staff and management team.
  • Follows HIPAA guidelines by protecting the patient\'s identity.
  • Ability to work with patients regardless of diagnosis, age, or background.
  • Maintain a positive attitude in clinic.
  • Demonstrates professionalism with prompt work attendance and flexibility with established work hours.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and work under pressure.
  • Detail oriented and demonstrates effective time management.
  • Displays professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to lift maximum of 20 pounds to waist height
  • Skilled in Windows; Google; Email access.

Base salary offers for this position may vary based on factors such as location, skills and relevant experience.
