Job summary

SanStone Health & Rehabilitation in Pinehurst, NC is seeking a Rehab Director to lead the rehabilitation department of our skilled nursing facility. You will oversee physical, occupational, and speech therapy teams, develop individualized rehab plans, and ensure regulatory compliance to optimize resident outcomes.

This role requires licensure in PT, OT, or SLP, strong leadership, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Current license to practice as PT, OT, or SLP.
• Experience in geriatric rehabilitation and complex medical conditions.
• Strong leadership and management skills.

Responsibilities

• Assess resident needs and develop comprehensive rehabilitation plans.
• Supervise and guide rehabilitation staff (PT/OT/SLP).

• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and social workers to coordinate care.
• Communicate with residents, families, and insurers about plans and progress.

• Oversee budget, expenses, and cost‑saving initiatives.
• Recruit, hire, and train rehabilitation staff.
• Ensure compliance with Medicare/Medicaid guidelines and quality assurance.

The Rehab Director is responsible for overseeing the rehabilitation department within our skilled nursing facility, including managing a team of physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists. The Rehab Director is responsible for developing and implementing individualized rehabilitation plans for residents, ensuring compliance with regulations, and monitoring the quality and effectiveness of rehabilitation services provided to residents, all while collaborating with other healthcare professionals within the facility to optimize patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

Clinical Leadership and communication

• Assess resident needs and develop comprehensive rehabilitation plans based on medical evaluations and physician orders.
• Supervise and provide clinical guidance to the rehabilitation therapy staff, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists.
• Monitor patient progress, adjust treatment plans as needed, and document findings accurately.
• Ensure the integration of evidence-based practices into rehabilitation programs.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals within the facility, including nurses, physicians, and social workers, to coordinate resident care plans.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, and insurance companies regarding treatment plans and progress.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to discuss resident care needs

Operational Management

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the rehabilitation department, including scheduling appointments, staff assignments, and resource allocation.
• Oversee the budget for the rehabilitation department, monitor expenses, and identify cost-saving measures.
• Recruit, hire, and train qualified rehabilitation staff.
• Compliance and Quality Assurance:
• Ensure adherence to all applicable regulations and standards related to rehabilitation services, including Medicare and Medicaid guidelines.
• Monitor quality of care through data analysis and performance improvement initiatives
• Implement safety protocols and procedures within the rehabilitation department

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Current license to practice as a physical therapist, occupational therapist, or speech therapist
• Experience in geriatric rehabilitation and working with complex medical conditions
• Strong leadership and management skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
