University of California - San Diego Medical Centers seeks a clinical leader in rehabilitation to guide therapists and interdisciplinary teams. You will champion improvements in models of practice, quality, and efficiency while mentoring staff and students.

You will lead trainings, implement workflows and policies, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to optimize patient care and outcomes in a dynamic academic medical setting.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy or Speech-Language Pathology.
• Licensure as Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist or Speech Language Pathologist by the State of California.
• BART or BLS at time of hire with commitment to get BART within six months of hire date.
• Five (5+) years of relevant experience.
• In-depth knowledge of evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation therapy services within specialty area or across disciplines.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, internal policies and standards of conduct.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills.
• Ability to work effectively on a team with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary clinicians.

Responsabilidades

• Researches best practices and facilitates implementation of improvements or new models of practice across the continuum of care.
• Communicates and collaborates with the multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care planning for patients and families.
• Mentors therapists in educating patients about their condition, rehab potential, and treatment options.
• Leads implementation of new workflows, procedures and policies to improve department operations.
• Develops and delivers training materials for therapists and staff; mentors students and interns.
• Leads performance improvement initiatives within the department.
• Serves on committees and leads projects to improve campus-wide rehabilitation policies and standards.
• Supervises support personnel as allowed by state practice acts.
• Provides skilled therapy intervention to patients in the designated setting.
