Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in Garden City is seeking a Rehabilitation Aide to join our team. Working under a supervising therapist, you will assist with direct patient care at the bedside or in the department and help prepare patients for treatment while ensuring safety and cleanliness.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or GED and strong communication skills; BLS/CPR certification is preferred. 1–2 years in hospital rehab is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• BLS or CPR certification preferred. 1–2 years hospital rehabilitation experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs other duties as assigned
• Assists with executing limited direct patient care duties related to Physical and/or Occupational Therapy as directed by the supervising therapist.
• Assists the supervising therapist with patient setup and preparation for treatment.
• Promotes and maintains patient safety via appropriate safeguarding techniques, proper body mechanics, and equipment inspection.
• Participates in maintaining the cleanliness of the department and adequate levels of supplies.
