Job summary

NYU Langone Hospital-Long Island in East Meadow, NY, invites applicants for a Rehabilitation Aide. You will work as part of a therapy team, under a supervising therapist, assisting with bedside patient care and maintaining department cleanliness and supplies.

The role emphasizes safe patient handling, setup for treatment, and collaboration with therapists to meet departmental goals. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED and strong communication skills; CPR/BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication (oral and written) skills.
• CPR/BLS certification preferred.
• 1–2 years hospital or outpatient rehab experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with limited direct patient care duties related to Physical and/or Occupational Therapy as directed by the supervising therapist.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Maintains department cleanliness and adequate supply levels.
• Promotes patient safety through proper guarding techniques, body mechanics, and equipment inspection.
• Assists supervising therapist with patient setup and preparation for treatment.
