Job summary

The State of Missouri is seeking a diligent auditor to join the Auditing Department in Jefferson City. You will audit investor-owned utilities, analyze financial data for anomalies, and prepare detailed workpapers and reports to support Commission recommendations.

Responsibilities include presenting testimony in formal rate cases and maintaining strong communication with stakeholders. A bachelor’s in accounting and 0–2 years of experience are preferred, with travel up to 30%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field with at least 15 hours in accounting.
• 0-2 years of professional accounting experience.
• Familiarity with GAAP is required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Audit and examine investor-owned utilities operating in Missouri.
• Analyze financial data to identify anomalies and trends.
• Prepare detailed audit workpapers, schedules and reports to support recommendations.
• Present oral and written testimony in rate cases before the Commission.
• Travel up to 30% may be required.
