Job summary

Howard County Government seeks an experienced inspections support professional to handle licensing, inspections, and enforcement coordination. You will support the licenses and permits division, process notices, and help maintain compliance with regulatory requirements.

The role emphasizes accurate record-keeping, customer service, and teamwork within the Inspections and Enforcement Division. A high school diploma and relevant experience are required, with a Maryland driver's license preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and three years related experience.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
• Class C Maryland Driver's license or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains detailed tracking of civil citations, subpoenas, and court cases; coordinates with inspectors, supervisors, and legal offices.
• Prepares weekly status reports on Notices of Violation for Division meetings.
• Processes inspection holds, releases, and notices in the permitting system; schedules initial inspections.
• Reviews documents for completeness and accuracy; maintains records of permits, inspections, and enforcement activities.
• Composes and updates form letters and notices; prepares monthly staff meeting minutes and weekly reports.
