Department Overview

The Underground Program organization is working to reduce wildfire risk daily by undergrounding 10,000 miles of distribution lines. We coordinate across internal teams and external stakeholders, including regulatory authorities, to meet our goals and mitigate wildfire risks. We operate in an exciting, fast-paced environment.

Position Summary

The Program Manager oversees program implementation and ensures efficient, compliant operations for the Undergrounding Regulatory Strategy team. Responsibilities include:

  • Managing the regulatory filing of a strategic, compliant, and compelling 10 Year Electric Undergrounding Plan (EUP) to promote safety, prosperity, and carbon neutrality in California.
  • Managing the interplay of multiple System-Hardening proceedings, including the EUP, Wildfire Mitigation Plan (WMP), General Rate Case (GRC), Risk Assessment and Mitigation Phase (RAMP), Wildfire Mitigation and Catastrophic Events (WMCE).
  • Ensuring regulatory compliance is operationalized to support business success.
Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize strong program and project management skills to oversee the Undergrounding Regulatory team's and EUP's tactical implementation plans (TIP). Develop and coordinate relevant standards and procedures.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance requirements are integrated with appropriate controls, evidence, and methodologies. Support lean delivery and visual management for tracking system hardening commitments by developing, measuring, and reporting on program success.
  • Provide summaries and analyses of financial, strategic, or policy impacts of regulatory proposals, pleadings, and decisions. Prepare strategic briefing materials and recommendations for leadership, partners, and regulators.
  • Maintain current knowledge of key program, operational, cost, and regulatory issues. Stay informed of industry trends and developments. Build and maintain strong relationships with strategic programs and partners.
Compensation

PG&E provides a salary range believed to be competitive for this role, specific to the locality. Actual salary depends on skills, experience, location, and other factors.

Estimated salary range:

  • Minimum: $122,000
  • Midpoint: $158,000
  • Maximum: $194,000
