Job summary

Hilltop Holdings, headquartered in Dallas, TX, seeks a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant to oversee the preparation, analysis, and filing of external financial reports and regulatory filings in compliance with US GAAP, SEC requirements, and Federal Reserve rules.

The role serves as a technical resource for accounting research, supports new guidance, coordinates information across units, and drives process improvements to strengthen controls and efficiency of the reporting function.

Qualifications

• Two to five years of SEC reporting and/or Bank regulatory reporting experience.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SEC reporting requirements.
• Understanding of ICFR and SOX controls.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUP, pivot tables) and Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare timely, complete regulatory filings required by Federal Reserve (FR Y-9C, Call Report).
• Prepare quarterly and annual SEC reporting for Form 10-Q/10-K and earnings materials.
• Collaborate with Technology and Finance teams to standardize regulatory reporting initiatives.
• Analyze data from core systems and spreadsheets to recommend technical solutions.
• Support or lead the design of controls to improve efficiency and reduce risk.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies for audit readiness.
• Assist in responses to Federal Reserve, auditors, and regulators.
• Monitor new accounting guidance and draft technical memos.
