Job summary

Xcel Energy offers an internship in Regulatory Administration starting Fall 2026, part-time during the school year and full-time in summer, with a hybrid in-person policy at the Denver location. The role focuses on policy, cost recovery, and rulemaking, requiring research, writing, and cross-functional collaboration within the organization.

Responsibilities include managing cases, meeting milestones, reporting progress to management, and proposing process improvements.

Qualifications

• Current student, Junior or higher
• Enrolled in an accredited college or university and pursuing a degree in Business, English, Economics, Public Policy, Environmental, etc.
• Able to work full-time during the summer (up to 40 hours a week)/ part time during the school year (up to 20 hours a week) and commuting to the designated work location in-person, per our hybrid work policy.
• Preferred Qualifications: Research, Writing, Financial, Project Management experience/coursework
• Experience with Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) AI, Adobe Acrobat, SharePoint

Responsibilities

• Manage or support an assigned case(s)
• Research issues if needed
• Meet case milestones timely and accurately
• Report to management on milestones
• Provide recommendations for leadership if decisions needed
• Work cross-functionally with business partners across the organization
• Create high-level process maps of the case management process or other related processes and look for process improvements.
