Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates, LLC seeks a Regulatory Permitting and Technical Specialist to support the DOE Hanford Field Office in Richland, WA. You will review permits, support permitting strategies, and coordinate regulatory comments to ensure compliance.

Responsibilities include interacting with state and federal agencies, analyzing regulatory changes, and developing reporting templates to track trends and corrective actions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 7+ years of relevant experience in environmental regulatory permitting and related documentation.
• Ten (10) years of relevant experience (17 years total if using in lieu of bachelor).
• Experience in environmental regulatory permitting, including development, review, modification, and implementation of permits and permit-related documentation.
• Demonstrated experience with RCRA permitting and regulatory compliance.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulatory frameworks and the ability to interpret and apply regulatory and statutory requirements.
• Experience in evaluating regulatory impacts, implementation challenges, and compliance strategies.
• Ability to review and assess technical and regulatory documents for completeness, defensibility, and compliance.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear technical comments, recommendations, and summary analyses.

Responsibilities

• Review permitting-related documents for technical adequacy and regulatory consistency.
• Support development and evaluation of permitting strategies and compliance impacts.
• Coordinate review comments from stakeholders and support resolutions.
• Participate in meetings, workshops, and field walk-downs for permitting activities.
• Provide technical support during interactions with regulatory agencies (e.g., Ecology, Health, EPA).
• Review procedures to ensure regulatory requirements are current and implemented.
• Conduct analyses to determine applicability of existing and proposed regulations.
• Develop templates, tracking tools, and summary reporting of trends and corrective actions.
