Job summary

LifeSpice Ingredients in Chicago's River North area is hiring a Regulatory Manager to lead regulatory and quality activities for our food products. This onsite role focuses on documentation, regulatory guidance, labeling, and compliance reviews across new and reformulated LifeSpice products.

You will collaborate with R&D, procurement, and Quality to ensure accurate specifications, oversee kosher, organic, halal programs, and maintain regulatory documentation.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Regulatory or Food Industry.
• Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations.
• BS in Food Science, Nutrition, or similar field.

Responsibilities

• Works with R&D, Regulatory, Procurement, and Quality to ensure specifications are accurate and compliant.
• Lead in providing regulatory information and guidance to internal and external customers.
• Reviews and approves new labels and label changes.
• Obtains documentation on raw materials and loads into formula management system.
• Manages and maintains raw material status.
• Oversees regulatory/quality programs for Kosher, Organic, Halal, FDA, CFIA, etc.
• Advises R&D on regulatory and nutrition labeling requirements.
• Organizes and maintains regulatory documentation per procedures.
• Participates on project teams and resolves regulatory concerns.

LifeSpice Ingredients, a fast-growing, entrepreneurial, international food company has an opening for a Regulatory Manager in our River North location.Steps away from the Brown line, and easily accessible from public transportation takes the stress out of your morning commute. This is an onsite position; there is no hybrid or remote working schedule available.

We are seeking a Regulatory Manager with a strong Regulatory background. Experience with Quality would be a plus. The Regulatory spends the majority of their time providing customer documentation support, regulatory guidance, and compliance reviews specific to new and reformulated LifeSpice products.

As a Regulatory at LifeSpice, you will:

• Works closely with R&D Product Development, Regulatory, Procurement, and Quality teams to ensure raw material and finished product specifications are accurate, compliant with regulations, and clearly captured in recipe management systems
• Take lead in providing regulatory information and guidance to internal and external customers
• Reviews and approves of all new labels and label changes
• Responsible for obtaining all necessary documentation on raw materials and loading into formula management system
• Responsible for managing and maintaining raw material status
• Manage company regulatory/quality programs related to Kosher, Organic, Halal, FDA, CFIA, etc. to ensure requirements are met
• Serve as an advisor to R&D on regulatory and nutrition requirements for labeling and claims
• Organize, update, and maintain regulatory documentation in accordance with department procedures
• Participates on project teams, anticipates regulatory issues, and works with key stakeholders to clarify and resolve regulatory concerns

Position Requirements:

• 4+ years of experience in Regulatory or Food Industry
• Knowledge of FDA and USDA regulations
• BS in Food Science, nutrition, or similar field
• Occasional trips to blending partner. Quarterly onsite internal audits of Distribution Center in Lowell, IN
