Job summary

Radiant in El Segundo, CA seeks a Manager, Regulatory Engineering to lead the authorization process for reactor deployment with military partners. You will oversee regulatory submissions, timelines, and mentor junior staff, coordinating with regulators and engineers to deliver a formal license.

This role requires guiding complex regulatory strategies for first-of-a-kind nuclear projects. You will manage end-to-end licensing activities, work with internal stakeholders and external regulatory

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
• 5 years experience in a regulated industry, preferably nuclear programs regulated by the NRC or DOE.
• Experience directly interfacing, interpreting and implementing regulatory requirements, with a focus on streamlining and right-sizing.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation abilities; ability to navigate regulatory conversations effectively and write technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Manage the customer relationship, coordinating interactions and meetings, tracking deliverables, submission and acceptance, and compliance to contracts.
• Own end to end licensing execution efforts required to fulfill an application deliverable, ranging from detailed safety analysis to a physical protection plan.
• Partner closely with internal stakeholders and external regulatory bodies to drive efficient project execution and authorization.
• Oversee execution by technical teams including design reviews and regulatory and quality documentation; organize their inputs into data products and reports; raise regulatory concerns and see through timely and successful resolution.
• Proactively review approaches and decisions as they relate to regulatory efforts to ensure adherence to Radiant’s novel and efficient licensing paths.
