Job summary

State of Colorado Department of Law’s Revenue & Regulatory Law (R&R) section seeks an Assistant Attorney General to join the Marijuana, Liquor and Bankruptcy Unit. The MLB Unit defends licensing and disciplinary actions for regulated industries in state and federal courts, with a focus on complex regulatory litigation.

The attorney will handle administrative licensing actions from inception through hearings, exceptions, and judicial review, representing divisions such as Marijuana Enforcement,

Qualifications

• Must be admitted to the Colorado Bar or eligible to waive into the Colorado Bar
• Ability to handle negotiations, litigation, and trials independently
• Excellent writing and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Independently handle litigation, negotiations, hearings, and administrative appeals for Unit clients
• Litigate matters requiring immediate action including license suspensions
• Seek injunction relief in Colorado District Courts to enforce licensure requirements
• Provide training to DOL attorneys and client staff
