Job summary

Versigent seeks a Regulatory & GRC Counsel to join our legal team in Troy, MI. This role advises multinational operations on global regulatory matters, drafts policies, and guides compliance programs across functions including supply chain and government affairs.

The ideal candidate holds a JD, 7+ years of regulatory experience, and familiarity with EU matters. Local residency in the US and onsite work are required; relocation support may be available, and a collaborative, fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor or Doctor of Law required.
• 7+ years advising multinational companies on regulatory matters in a large law firm or in-house environment.
• Experience advising or coordinating advice on EU regulatory matters.
• Experience with supply chain, trade or sustainability-related regulations.
• Experience providing practical legal advice on regulatory compliance program design.
• Experience drafting guidelines, training, and policies related to regulatory and compliance topics.
• Experience engaging with administrative and regulatory bodies.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple functions and geographic regions.
• Knowledge of public company environments, manufacturing and / automotive industry is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support global regulatory matters across functions.
• Manage enterprise regulatory tracking, analytics and reporting process.
• Draft, review, and revise related policies, playbooks, procedures, communications, and training materials.
• Conduct training for internal stakeholders on regulatory matters.
• Assist in the administration of compliance programs, including the Code of Conduct and related policies.
• Assist with regulatory guidance related to mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
• Assist with the management of claims, administrative actions, litigation matters, and pre-litigation disputes, including document collection and coordination with outside counsel.
• Monitor regulatory developments specific to the company’s footprint and industries of its customers.
• Provide support to other areas within the GRC and broader legal function.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Support trade, supply chain, government affairs, EHS, product, engineering, sustainability and other functions on global regulatory matters.
• Manage enterprise regulatory tracking, analytics and reporting process.
• Draft, review, and revise related policies, playbooks, procedures, communications, and training materials.
• Conduct training for internal stakeholders on regulatory matters.
• Conduct internal investigations as necessary on regulatory and compliance matters.
• Assist in the administration of compliance programs, including the Code of Conduct, Supplier Code of Conduct, and related policies and procedures.
• Assist with regulatory guidance related to mergers, acquisitions, and other corporate transactions.
• Assist with the management of claims, administrative actions, litigation matters, and pre-litigation disputes, including document collection, fact gathering, and coordination with outside counsel related to regulatory or other matters.
• Monitor regulatory developments specific to the company’s operational footprint and the industries of its current and targeted customer base.
• Provide support to other areas within the GRC and broader legal function as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Juris Doctor, Doctor of Jurisprudence, or Doctor of Law (JD)
• 7+ years advising multinational companies on regulatory matters in a large law firm or in-house environment.
• Experience advising or coordinating advice on EU regulatory matters.
• Experience with supply chain, trade or sustainability-related regulations.
• Experience providing practical legal advice on regulatory compliance program design.
• Experience drafting guidelines, training, and policies related to regulatory and compliance topics.
• Experience engaging with administrative and regulatory bodies.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams and collaborating with stakeholders across multiple functions and geographic regions.
• Knowledge of public company environments, manufacturing and / or automotive industry is a plus.

• U.S. Passport and ability to travel occasionally (20% or less), and collaborate across multiple time zones.
• Local residents only (relocation assistance offered), with the ability to work onsite in Troy, MI
• Must be legally able to work in the United States without requirement of any type of visa sponsorship or transfer now, or at any time in the future
