Job summary

The City of Santa Rosa seeks an Environmental Specialist to ensure compliance with FDEP/EPA guidelines for solid waste facilities, groundwater protection, leachate treatment, and emissions programs. You will perform field inspections, maintain monitoring systems, and support regulatory reporting.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's in Environmental Sciences or related field and have 2+ years in environmental monitoring, with Florida rules knowledge preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental sciences or related field with two years of experience.
• Experience with Florida groundwater, stormwater and surface-water rules is preferred.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance, reporting and remediation procedures.

Responsibilities

• Perform field investigations and maintain databases to verify regulatory compliance.
• Maintain groundwater monitoring and other environmental monitoring programs.
• Oversee landfill gas collection system inspection and perimeter monitoring.
