Job summary

American Express is seeking a Manager, Regulatory Engagement and Governance to lead regulatory examinations, requests, and related oversight impacting Digital Workplace Technology. You will manage engagements from notification through closure and coordinate across technology teams and enterprise partners.

The role focuses on evidence gathering, governance, readiness for examinations, and escalation of risks, with strong emphasis on executive communications and delivering defensible documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Risk Management, Technology, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience in regulatory engagement, technology risk, operational risk, compliance, audit, control management, or governance in a regulated organization.
• Strong understanding of risk and control concepts and ability to evaluate documentation and evidence.
• Experience coordinating complex initiatives involving multiple senior stakeholders and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including executive materials.
• Ability to analyze complex regulatory requests and translate them into deliverables.
• Strong judgment with escalation ability.
• Excellent organizational, documentation, and program management capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Manage regulatory engagements from notification through closure, including examinations, assessments, information requests, and follow-up activities.
• Review regulatory requests to understand scope, intent, applicable technology processes, and risk.
• Develop and maintain engagement plans, timelines, request trackers, ownership, dependencies, and escalation paths.
• Coordinate responses across Digital Workplace Technology teams and enterprise partners.
• Serve as the primary Digital Workplace Technology point of contact for regulatory engagement activities.
• Coordinate collection, review, and submission of documentation and evidence supporting regulatory requests.
• Assess evidence for completeness, accuracy, consistency, and alignment with the regulatory request.
• Prepare leaders and subject matter experts for regulatory meetings and examinations; develop executive briefing materials.
• Identify documentation or control gaps before they become regulatory concerns.
• Track regulatory commitments, findings, and remediation through closure.
