Job summary

Sidley Austin LLP in Washington, D.C. seeks a Practice Group Manager (PGM) for its Regulatory and Enforcement Global Practice Group to lead strategic, operational, administrative, and talent-management needs across offices.

You will drive strategic plans for the GPG and its Practice Area Teams, enhance reporting, and help optimize processes. The role partners with Global Practice Leaders, PAT leaders and local Practice Group Heads to manage talent and drive initiatives.

Qualifications

• Consulting, strategic and operational experience in law firms or in-house settings.
• Proficient in law firm economics, attorney incentives and staffing dynamics.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, scheduling tools, and Excel.
• Ability to work independently, drive projects and exercise sound judgment.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and collaboration with leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on support for the GPG and PATs, building relationships with GPLs, PGHs, partners, associates and staff to advance goals.
• Organize practice group meetings, develop and manage communications, and prepare presentation materials and documentation.
• Design and manage reporting with GPLs, PGHs, and Accounting.
• Help develop and implement a strategic business plan and select initiatives; monitor industry trends.
• Lead cross-practice or firm-wide strategic projects and cross-referral tracking with Marketing/BD.
• Prepare client value or post-engagement reports to show ROI and service delivery.
• Manage special projects including process improvements and AI initiatives.
• Function as liaison with Learning & Development, KM, Marketing, Accounting, etc.
• Track utilization to guide staffing or talent decisions and assist with recruiting.
• Assist with hiring needs and onboarding of associates.
