Job summary

Bayer is seeking a Regulatory Digital Transformation & Data Co-Op in Pennsylvania to map, analyze, and improve regulatory data ecosystems across product lifecycles. The role emphasizes stakeholder interviews, data dictionaries, and governance, with hands-on exposure to AI/automation pilots and cross-functional workflows.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in a relevant field.
  • Coursework or hands-on experience in data modeling, database design, process mining, systems architecture, or business process analysis.
  • Experience with SQL and Python for data analysis and manipulation.
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau and strong Microsoft 365 skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; able to work independently and manage priorities.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; experience interviewing stakeholders and presenting findings.

Responsibilities

  • Inventory and document regulatory databases, repositories, dashboards, and software tools used across the Regulatory Affairs organization.
  • Create current-state process maps showing information flow between systems and identify duplicates data entry, disconnected workflows, and manual handoffs.
  • Interview stakeholders across Regulatory Affairs, Quality, Clinical, R&D, and Operations to capture business processes, data needs, and pain points.
  • Analyze relationships between systems, data sources, and business processes to evaluate opportunities for automation, integration, and simplification.
  • Identify master data elements and support development of data dictionaries, system inventories, and governance recommendations.
  • Develop visualizations and dashboards that communicate system dependencies and highlight improvement opportunities.
  • Support pilot projects involving AI, automation, analytics, Copilot/knowledge management integrations, or workflow optimization, and assist in preparing business cases for system enhancements.
  • Perform additional tasks that advance the development of a connected regulatory information ecosystem and reduce manual work across the product lifecycle.

Regulatory Digital Transformation & Data Co-Op

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Science, Data Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Systems student to partner with our Medical Device Regulatory Affairs organization. This role will focus on mapping, analyzing, and improving the interconnectedness of regulatory databases, document repositories, workflows, and digital tools used across the product lifecycle; the successful candidate will help identify opportunities to reduce manual work, improve data accessibility, increase regulatory process efficiency, and support the development of a connected regulatory information ecosystem; this is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in applying data science and digital transformation principles within a highly regulated healthcare and medical technology environment.

Your Tasks And Responsibilities

Who You Are

Bayer seeks an incumbent who possesses the following:

Required Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, Engineering, Business Data Analytics, Bioinformatics, or a related discipline;
  • Coursework or hands‑on experience in data modeling, database design, process mining, systems architecture, or business process analysis;
  • Experience with SQL and Python for data analysis and manipulation;
  • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau and strong Microsoft 365 skills;
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities;
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, including experience interviewing stakeholders and presenting findings;
  • Demonstrated interest in or familiarity with healthcare, life sciences, or medical device industries and regulatory, quality, or clinical systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum GPA of 3.0;
  • Experience with data integration platforms or ETL tools, and familiarity with building or supporting data dictionaries and governance artifacts;
  • Prior internship or project experience applying AI, automation, or analytics to process improvement;
  • Practical exposure to workflow automation, Copilot/knowledge management integrations, or dashboarding for cross‑functional stakeholders.

Employees can expect to be paid a salary of approximately between $22.75 to $43.25. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). Additional benefits include health care, vision, dental, retirement, PTO, sick leave, etc..
