Job summary

Texas A&M University System Offices is seeking a Compliance Officer I to monitor and enforce regulatory and TAMUS standards. This staff role focuses on developing an effective compliance program, coordinating audits, and maintaining documentation across research security operations.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree and four years of related compliance experience, with the ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; equivalent combination of training and experience acceptable.
• Four years of related compliance experience.
• Must be able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Assists in developing, establishing, and maintaining an effective compliance program based on ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with laws, policies, and procedures.
• Monitors compliance with federal, state, TAMUS regulatory standards and internal/external policies.
• Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and develops corrective action plans.
• Responds to apparent violations by recommending and participating in investigative procedures.
• Assists in coordinating internal and external audits and prepares information requests.
• Oversees monitoring of policies and procedures and maintains filing systems for research security compliance.
• Forms, maintains, and monitors a database of TAMUS rules and procedures.
• Provides reports on compliance efforts and serves on committees as needed.
• Recommends program guidelines, procedures, and regulations.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
