Job Title: Regulatory Compliance Specialist
Job Description

The Regulatory Compliance Specialist (Compliance and Regulatory Analyst) supports company-wide compliance programs across human resources, food safety, workplace safety, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards within multiple production facilities. This role ensures the organization operates in alignment with federal, state, and local regulations while strengthening internal policies and procedures to maintain audit readiness, uphold ethical practices, and protect employees. The position collaborates closely with Compliance leadership, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations to drive accountability, transparency, and risk mitigation across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Support and maintain company-wide compliance programs covering HR, food safety, safety, regulatory requirements, and ethical standards across multiple production facilities.
  • Ensure operations align with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Strengthen and document internal compliance policies, procedures, and controls to support ongoing audit readiness.
  • Partner closely with Compliance leadership, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations teams to promote accountability and transparency in daily operations.
  • Support food safety programs, including HACCP, Preventive Controls, and GMP-based systems, within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Assist with or conduct internal audits related to food safety, quality assurance, quality control, and regulatory compliance.
  • Verify adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and other food safety standards on the production floor.
  • Support regulatory and third-party food safety audits by preparing documentation, gathering evidence, and coordinating responses.
  • Contribute to risk mitigation efforts by identifying compliance gaps and helping implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation to demonstrate compliance with regulatory and customer requirements.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with quality, production, and leadership teams to communicate compliance expectations and support continuous improvement.
  • Assist with the use and maintenance of supplier management systems, such as TraceGains or similar platforms, to support food safety and regulatory compliance.
Essential Skills
  • PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) Certification.
  • Experience working in a food manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Strong attention to detail and high standards for documentation accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with quality, production, and leadership teams.
  • Experience with food safety, auditing, HACCP, preventive controls, and food manufacturing processes.
  • Understanding of quality assurance, quality control, and food quality principles.
  • Familiarity with microbiology concepts as they relate to food safety and quality.
  • Ability to support and navigate regulatory and compliance requirements in a production setting.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • SQF Practitioner Certification, or the ability to obtain this certification after hire.
  • Experience working with SQF food safety systems.
  • Experience using TraceGains or similar supplier management systems.
  • Experience supporting regulatory or third-party food safety audits.
  • Background in safety and ethical compliance within manufacturing operations.
  • Comfort working within cross-functional teams that include Compliance, Supply Chain, Quality, and Operations.
  • Interest in contributing to innovative food and beverage manufacturing practices.
Work Environment

This position operates within a food manufacturing environment and may require regular time spent on the production floor. Team members follow all food safety, GMP, and safety procedures while performing job duties. The role may involve standing, walking, and working within production areas to verify compliance, observe processes, and support food safety initiatives. The environment includes exposure to typical food production conditions and equipment, and adherence to facility-specific hygiene, protective equipment, and cleanliness standards is required.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Burlington, NC.

Pay And Benefits

The pay range for this position is $55000.00 - $65000.00/yr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
