Job summary

Qualifications

  • Capability to collect and handle chemical, microbiological, and environmental samples.
  • Effective communication to issue QA reports and collaborate with teams.

  • Issue accurate QA reports based on audits, inspections, and sample results.
  • Place product holds when issues are identified and release QA-approved products after confirmation.
  • Support HACCP, USDA, FDA, and GMP compliance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with production and sanitation teams to address nonconformances and corrective actions.
  • Maintain documentation of quality activities in lab and office settings.

Job DescriptionThe Quality Assurance Analyst ensures that production and sanitation practices in the plant meet all required standards, with a strong focus on compliance with internal quality guidelines as well as USDA and FDA regulations. This role involves auditing processes, collecting and evaluating samples, monitoring packaging and operating practices, and performing product checks to verify that all specifications are consistently met.
Responsibilities

  • Audit production practices and sanitation procedures within the plant to verify adherence to established quality and safety standards.
  • Collect assigned chemical, microbiological, and environmental samples according to defined protocols.
  • Examine product packaging to ensure it meets company, USDA, and FDA requirements.
  • Monitor operating practices on the production floor to confirm compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
  • Perform product checks to ensure all specifications and quality parameters are consistently met.
  • Issue accurate and timely quality assurance reports based on audits, inspections, and sample results.
  • Place product holds when quality issues are identified and release QA-approved products once specifications and standards are confirmed.

Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience working in a GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) environment.
  • Familiarity with HACCP principles and related food safety programs.
  • Working knowledge of USDA regulations applicable to production and sanitation practices.
  • Understanding of FDA requirements related to product quality and safety.
  • Ability to perform quality assurance and quality control activities in a lab environment.
  • Strong attention to detail when auditing processes, examining packaging, and reviewing operating practices.
  • Capability to follow established procedures for collecting and handling chemical, microbiological, and environmental samples.
  • Effective communication skills to issue clear QA reports and collaborate with production and sanitation teams.
Work EnvironmentThis role is based in an office and laboratory setting within a production facility. The position follows a first-shift schedule, working Monday through Friday from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with every other Saturday required from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The environment combines desk-based work for documentation and reporting with time spent in laboratory areas for sample collection and testing, as well as regular presence on the plant floor to observe production and sanitation practices.Job Type & LocationThis is a Permanent position based out of Fort Atkinson, WI.Pay And BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $49920.00 - $52000.00/yr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
