Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission seeks a Compliance Reviewer to assess long-term care facilities against state and CMS standards. You will review documentation, advise on deficiencies, and provide guidance to regional teams to ensure consistent quality assurance across facilities.

The role requires knowledge of federal/state licensure rules and the PoD framework, plus strong analytical and communication skills.

Qualifications

Knowledge of state and federal laws and rules related to long-term care program areas.
Familiar with CMS guidance and State Performance Standards.
Proficient with ASPEN, iQies and TULIP software; able to learn new tools.
Strong communication and analytical skills; able to prepare reports.
Bachelor’s degree in a human service field preferred but not required.
Two years’ experience in long-term care regulation is preferred.

Responsibilities

Develops and maintains QA tracking systems for reviews.
Monitors survey processes from exit through QA/enforcement reviews.
Facilitates vetting calls and provides determinations within program of expertise.
Reviews survey findings for evidence and regulatory compliance with PoD and LTCR standards.
Interprets policies and provides guidance to regional staff on compliance issues.
Interacts with CMS for directives and guidance on compliance topics.
Reviews draft policies to ensure conformity with state/federal requirements.
Prepares data analyses and participates in workgroups and meetings.
