Job summary

Texas Health and Human Services Commission (HHSC) seeks a Regional Director for Health Facility Compliance in the Health Care Regulation division of Regulatory Services. You will administer daily operations and coordinate surveys, inspections, and enforcement for licensed and certified facilities across Texas.

Under general supervision, you will guide regional staff, develop program goals, and ensure compliance with CMS, CLIA, and state standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in public administration, health care administration, hospital administration, business administration, education, psychology, social work, sociology, nursing, medicine, or a discipline related to developmental disabilities and/or gerontology, plus three (3) years of work experience in an administrative, management, and/or productivity improvement role in the operation of a large human services delivery agency.
• Experience in a Texas state agency long term care regulatory program may be substituted on a year for year basis for the required education, with a maximum substitution of four years.
• Minimum four years full time experience in program and personnel management and administration.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in health facility regulation and/or health care administration in a program area regulated by HHSC Regulatory Services Division Long Term Care (nursing facilities, assisted living facilities, adult daycare facilities, ICF/IID facilities, home health and hospice agencies).

Responsibilities

• Supervises the completion of the work of the health facility compliance field staff in the assigned region.
• Monitors the state and federal activities of professional staff related to the regulation of licensed and certified health care facilities in Texas.
• Oversees evaluating facility plans of correction for acceptability based on CMS SOM and state standards.
• Monitors workload for timeliness and completion of regional assignments.
• Provides technical assistance and education to stakeholders and works with CMS regional office and other managers regarding daily planning and evaluation of compliance activities.
