Job summary

Vantage Consulting is seeking a Senior Manager/Regulatory Compliance for a battery energy storage system (BESS) product at a leading electronics manufacturer. Hybrid work with HQ in Allentown; travel to the office will be expensed and 50% onsite for the first 3 months.

You will lead the regulatory compliance and test lab teams, engage with UL/CSA/NEC/NFPA standards, and help establish a satellite lab with an NRTL while shaping global compliance programs.

Qualifications

• BS Engineering with 5+ years of experience in an Electrical or Electromechanical product safety environment.
• 5+ years of experience with UL, CSA, NEC, NFPA standards (ex. UL924, UL1778, UL9540, UL1741, etc.)
• 3+ years of leadership experience of regulatory compliance and test lab teams.
• Demonstrated experience leading regulatory compliance for products from concept to final manufacture, balancing compliance with cost.

Responsibilities

• Lead team of Test & Compliance Engineers.
• Manage day-to-day compliance activities for global product safety compliance program.
• Actively participate in standards bodies for strategically important standards (existing and new standards).
• Lead effort to establish satellite lab status with a NRTL to meet existing and new testing needs.
• Monitor and track emerging regulatory developments relevant for critical power and battery storage markets.
• Manage outside NRTL bodies to globally support product and business development.
• Develop and adapt compliance initiatives to changing regulatory trends.
• Actively involved in the Phase-Gate Product Development Process for global new product development.
• Participate in reporting to senior leadership on our product safety program, and support engagement with regulatory authorities, standard setting bodies and other stakeholders.
• Work closely with Engineering Leadership to develop annual Expense and Capital budgets.
• Participate in cross-functional engineering teams to meet product and company objectives for the Product Engineering group. Define project milestones and report progress from concept to production.
• Support Project Engineering team with details of regulatory requirements, testing schedules and costs.
• Work with internal resources and outside vendors and partners in support of product development.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Finance, Marketing, and Legal.

Senior Manager/Regulatory Compliance of BESS

Hybrid (HQ is in Allentown) - Travel to the office will be expensed

50% onsite for the first 3 months, and then travel to the office only when needed after a ramp up period

Up to $180,000

I am working with an Electronics Manufacturer who are looking for a Senior Manager of Compliance to take their products to the next level.

You’ll report into the VP of Product and there is clear pathways to becoming a Director of Compliance.

You’ll inherit 2 Test Technicians who are currently testing and verifying their BESS product line, which is UL9540 compliant.
