You will collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, and leadership to ensure compliance across lifecycle, from development to market.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 5+ years in product compliance, certification, regulatory engineering, or similar.
  • Strong understanding of product safety standards and certification processes.
  • Ability to interpret drawings, wiring schematics, and engineering documents.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within engineering-led organisations.
  • Knowledge of ASME Codes, CRN, LVD, PED, EMC, Machinery Directives.
  • Familiarity with North American and European engine emissions regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Determine compliance and regulatory requirements for new products and engineered solutions.
  • Ensure products comply with applicable domestic and international regulations, directives, and standards.
  • Interpret changing regulatory requirements and drive implementation within the business.
  • Support new product development teams with compliance guidance and technical expertise.
  • Lead product safety reviews and regulatory risk assessments.
  • Coordinate product certification activities with third-party agencies.
  • Manage compliance audits and certification assessments.
  • Investigate product compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Review technical documentation, product labeling, specification sheets, and marketing materials for regulatory compliance.
  • Prepare compliance reports and submissions to regulatory authorities.
  • Work closely with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and commercial teams to ensure ongoing compliance.

An established international manufacturer of industrial equipment is seeking a Product Compliance Engineer to lead product compliance and regulatory activities across a diverse portfolio of engineered products sold globally.

This is a highly visible role that works across engineering, manufacturing, quality, sales, and leadership teams to ensure products comply with international regulations, safety standards, and certification requirements throughout the product lifecycle.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience in product compliance, certification, regulatory engineering, or a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of product safety standards and certification processes.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, wiring schematics, and engineering documentation.
  • Strong technical writing and communication skills.
  • Experience working cross-functionally within engineering-led organisations.
  • ASME Codes and pressure equipment regulations.
  • Canadian Registration Numbers (CRN).
  • Low Voltage Directive (LVD).
  • Pressure Equipment Directive (PED).
  • EMC Directive.
  • Machinery Directive.
  • Outdoor Noise Emissions requirements.
  • Engine emissions regulations for North America and Europe.
  • Rotating equipment, industrial machinery, process equipment, or similar engineered products.
