Job summary

Florida Department of Health, Bureau of Health Care Practitioner Regulation, Board of Medicine, seeks a Government Analyst I in Tallahassee to manage complex licensure reviews and provide regulatory guidance to applicants. The role requires interpreting statutes, coordinating with the Program Administrator, and supporting board meetings and staff training.

On-site position with responsibilities that include issuing licenses, updating records, and responding to high-level inquiries.

• Ability to understand and apply Florida Statutes, rules, policies and procedures for licensing and regulation of professionals and consumer protection.

Responsibilities

• Provide information, guidance, direction, and assistance with health care licensure processes for highly complex applications.
• Review and analyze applications for temporary and permanent licensure pathways, including complex files and supporting documentation.
• Respond to high level inquiries regarding licensure requirements via phone and email; communicate clearly and deescalate concerns.
• Serve as subject matter expert for complex licensure determinations and provide recommendations to leadership.
• Assist with board meeting preparation and processing of licensure applications for Board consideration and post-meeting actions.
• Support interviews and onboarding for new staff handling physician assistant and anesthesiologist assistant licensure.
