CrossCountry Mortgage, LLC is seeking a Regulatory Affairs Counsel to manage and support responses to federal and state regulatory examinations, audits, and inquiries. This role requires providing consistent and effective counsel during the examination lifecycle while maintaining strong regulatory knowledge.

You will collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer and business stakeholders to gather and organize documentation, track findings, and develop remediation strategies.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of mortgage lending experience with regulatory exposure.
  • Experience managing or supporting regulatory examinations by state regulators, CFPB, or prudential regulators.
  • Familiarity with loan origination systems (Encompass preferred).
  • Knowledge of consumer mortgage lending laws and regulations (TILA/Reg Z, RESPA, ECOA, HMDA).

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate CCM's responses to regulatory examinations, audits, and information requests from federal and state agencies.
  • Ensure compliance with state and federal regulatory requirements through independent research and evaluation.
  • Collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer on examination preparedness and remediation strategies.
  • Gather, review, and organize documentation responsive to examination requests with business stakeholders.
  • Track examination findings, corrective action plans, and remediation timelines to ensure timely resolution.
  • Develop, review, and amend policies and procedures as regulations change.
  • Report to EVP, Attorney, Regulatory Counsel on matters needing attention with recommendations.
  • Perform other legal/compliance responsibilities as assigned.

This role is expected to make significant contributions to the compliance program by providing consistent and effective counsel to the organization throughout the examination lifecycle.**Job Responsibilities:*** Manage and coordinate CCM’s responses to regulatory examinations, audits, and information requests from federal and state agencies.* Ensure that CCM complies in all material respects with state and federal regulatory requirements through independent research and evaluation.* Collaborate with the Chief Compliance Officer on developing effective strategies for examination preparedness and remediation.* Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather, review, and organize documentation and data responsive to examination requests.* Track and manage examination findings, corrective action plans, and remediation timelines to ensure timely resolution.* Develop, review, and amend policies and procedures as changes in regulations, examination feedback, or requirements are identified.* Regularly report to the EVP, Attorney, Regulatory Counsel on examination matters requiring attention while providing recommendations.* Other legal and compliance responsibilities, as assigned.**Qualifications and Skills:*** 3+ years of mortgage lending experience, with at least 1 year in a regulatory examination or audit-focused role.* Experience managing or supporting regulatory examinations conducted by agencies such as state regulators, the CFPB, or prudential regulators.* Experience with a loan origination system; Encompass, preferred.* Knowledge of consumer mortgage lending laws and regulations, including TILA/Reg Z, RESPA, ECOA, and HMDA, as well as state regulatory requirements.* Excellent communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.* Skilled at navigating dynamic regulatory environments.This job description is intended to convey information essential to understanding the scope of the job and the general nature and level of work performed by job holders within this job.
