Job summary

Synechron is seeking an experienced Compliance Technology Engineer to support engineering, implementation, integration, and operations of technology for regulatory electronic communications archiving and supervision in a regulated environment.

The role requires hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure, Terraform, PowerShell and/or Python, Windows, and messaging technologies such as Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Teams, plus SMTP fundamentals.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Compliance and Regulatory electronic communications archiving and/or supervision technologies.
• Hands-on experience with an enterprise communications archiving platform such as Smarsh, Proofpoint, or a comparable solution.
• Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure.
• Experience building and maintaining infrastructure using Terraform.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and/or Python.
• Strong experience administering and troubleshooting Microsoft Windows environments.
• Experience with enterprise messaging and collaboration technologies, including Microsoft Exchange On-premise, Exchange Online and Microsoft Teams, Bloomberg email, IM, and Symphony.
• Strong understanding of SMTP, mail flow, message routing, and related messaging concepts.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, implement, configure, and support solutions used for electronic communications capture, archiving, and supervision in a regulated environment.
• Support integration of messaging and collaboration platforms with enterprise communications archiving solutions.
• Work with Microsoft Exchange and Microsoft Teams and other electronic communication technologies to support compliant capture and archiving.
• Troubleshoot message delivery, routing, journaling/capture, connectivity, and integration issues across messaging and archival platforms.
• Apply strong knowledge of SMTP fundamentals, including mail flow, routing, relays, headers, and troubleshooting.
• Design, deploy, and maintain infrastructure and services within Microsoft Azure.
• Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform to improve consistency, repeatability, and automation.
• Develop PowerShell and/or Python scripts for automation, monitoring, deployment, validation, troubleshooting, and operational support.
• Support Windows-based infrastructure and applications, including troubleshooting at the operating system and application layers.
• Partner with Compliance and technology stakeholders to translate regulatory and business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Participate in production support, incident troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, upgrades, migrations, and remediation activities.
• Develop technical documentation, operational procedures, architecture documentation, and support materials.
• Identify opportunities to improve automation, resiliency, monitoring, operational efficiency, and controls across the communications compliance environment.
