A leading healthcare organization in Rhode Island is seeking an Administrative Associate B to manage patient admissions and financial data. This role involves ensuring database accuracy, providing patient education, and supporting the Emergency Department during third shift. Ideal candidates will have a high school diploma and relevant experience in a healthcare setting.
Hours/Pay Period: VARIED
Summary: Under general supervision and according to established procedures, obtains all pertinent information required to ensure that the Medical Center's financial and patient-related databases are accurate and complete. Routinely provides counseling and/or education to patients, families, or assigned representatives regarding financial responsibility. Interprets and reviews physician orders for laboratory services, including documentation of verbal orders, written documentation, or other ancillary testing requests, to facilitate accurate testing and billing. Performs all aspects of admissions and registrations throughout the medical center as defined. Maintains and tracks census, bed, and unit assignments. Provides Administrative Associate B services during the third shift for the Emergency Department. Accurately and promptly retrieves medical records and cardiology reports to support patient evaluation and treatment. Faxes appropriate medical documentation to other hospitals or facilities to promote positive outcomes and continuity of care.
Education: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required. Computer experience required. Experience in a hospital or physician’s office setting preferred.
Experience: 3-4 years in an equivalent position.
