Job Description

Performs receptionist, registration, and clerical duties associated with direct and scheduled patient admissions.

Reports to

Department Manager

Responsibilities
  1. Greets patients and handles check-in/check-out process, including use of Clockwise system.
  2. Ensures all necessary demographic, billing, and clinical information is obtained and entered accurately and timely.
  3. Distributes and explains forms, documents, and educational handouts to patients or family members.
  4. Meets with patients or caregivers before or after admission to exchange information, explain processes, and address questions.
  5. Communicates with physicians, nursing staff, and other personnel regarding admissions and placement.
  6. Verifies insurance benefits, obtains precertification/authorization, and handles payments or refers to financial counselors.
  7. Completes IMM's & MSP's timely for compliance.
  8. Maintains lobby and registration wait times below 10 minutes.
  9. Verifies insurance and runs estimators for pre-registration accounts.
  10. Assists with front lobby duties as needed.
  11. Obtains authorizations to reduce denial rates.
  12. Responds to inquiries, forwards messages, and communicates with patients and providers.
  13. Maintains cash drawer accuracy during shifts.
  14. Calls patients for follow-up as needed.
  15. Ensures cleanliness and functionality of the office, especially the lobby and registration area.
  16. Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Education

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Work Experience

Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite, practice management, EMR, and Clockwise software. Knowledge of insurance and medical terminology is preferred but not required. Must complete data entry accurately and efficiently.
