Job summary

Salinas Valley Health seeks a Temporary Registration Clerk II to support front-office operations and patient registration in Salinas, CA. The role is agency-based for 3-6 months with 40 hours per week and night shifts may be required.

You will gather patient demographics, financial data, and insurance details, entering them into the hospital system while ensuring accuracy and HIPAA compliance. Prior data entry and medical office experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• One year data entry and medical office experience.
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Familiarity with patient registration and billing processes.

Responsibilities

• Interview patients to obtain demographics and financial data and register in the computer system.
• Prepare paperwork and labels for charts and IDs; emboss and band patient IDs.
• Obtain insurance information and pre-authorization for treatment when required.
• Enter data accurately; monitor transfers and bed swaps as needed.
• Ensure compliance with privacy regulations and company policies.
