Job summary

Avem Health Partners is seeking an orderly, customer-focused Registration/Patient Accounts Clerk to support outpatient services in Stroud, OK. You will register patients, collect payments, answer inquiries, and coordinate with the Business Office.

Responsibilities include explaining financial policies, handling deductible and co-insurance payments, and assisting with registration and medical records as needed. A strong emphasis on accurate processing and professional communication is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of scheduling in a medical business office setting.
• Excellent customer service skills are required.
• Knowledge of health insurances and related regulations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Explain financial policies to patients.
• Collect deductibles, co-insurance and non-covered charges as outlined.
• Answer all incoming calls regarding patient accounts.
• Research account issues; correct and/or initiate correction of errors.
• Respond to requests from the Business Office and/or Central Business Office (CBO).
• Initiate outgoing calls to receive payment and/or improve cash collection.
• Assist registration and medical records as necessary.
• Provide backup coverage for other department staff as needed.
• Prepare standard registration/admission forms and transfer tasks.

JOB PURPOSE: Registers and pre-registers patients for services as outlined in departmental procedures. Obtains demographic, financial, pre-certification or authorization information. This position is the first point of customer contact for general inquiries like pricing, products, scheduling etc. Registers patients for outpatient procedures. Builds and maintains a business relationship with clients by providing prompt and accurate service to promote customer loyalty.
