NOR-LEA GENERAL HOSPITAL INC is seeking a Registration Clerk to support patient admissions and scheduling at 1600 N. Main Street, Lovington, NM.
This role involves accurate data collection, patient coordination, and billing activities to ensure smooth clinic operations. You will verify Medicaid/Medicare and private insurance details, process admissions, and collaborate with multiple departments, while upholding HIPAA and confidentiality standards.
Performs registration and scheduling for patients. Obtains and verifies patient information regarding Medicaid, Medicare, Sliding Scale, Workman’s Compensation and Private insurance. Processes and files admission records and acts as a liaison with patient, family members or responsible party. Performs duties involved in receiving payments from patients, accounting for and balancing daily cash. Performs other tasks as requested
• Answers incoming clinic telephone calls and directs to the appropriate person or department
• Interfaces with patients and families, physicians and staff
• Keeps all patient information confidential in compliance with HIPAA guidelines
• Registers patients and process their paperwork
• Enters patient registration information into computer and routes printed copy to designated department
• Obtains signed statement/consent from patient to protect clinics interests
• Explains clinic regulations, such as cost of service, amount of co-pay due at time of service
• Collect monies due and document in billing system
• Escorts patient or arranges for escort to departments within the hospital as needed
• Balancing daily cash
• Collects email information from patients for clinic survey’s
• Scans daily patient document/records
• Contacts patients for address corrections on returned mail

Requirements
Organization
One year office/clinical experience in a medical setting preferred, or recent training in a similar field.
High School graduate or equivalent.
