Job summary

Covenant HealthCare is seeking a Registration Associate to complete scheduling, pre-registration and registration, verify insurance, determine eligibility and patient liability. You will educate patients on financial obligations and assist with payment solutions while handling various insurance contracts.

Excellent customer service, HIPAA compliance, and knowledge of billing regulations are essential. You will work across departments to ensure accurate data entry and smooth patient flow.

Qualifications

• Preferred CMA or Billing/Administration training.
• Associates degree or equivalent in medical field.
• Medical Terminology course required or within 6 months.
• Experience with scheduling/registration and billing is preferred.

• Uses interpersonal communication and interview skills to record demographics and insurance info.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and promotes a positive first impression.
• Explains admission, registration, scheduling, insurance and billing questions.
• Educates patients on Advance Directives and consent requirements.
• Records information for other departments and ensures proper workflows.
• Verifies insurance, determines coverage, and assists with preauthorization when needed.
• Handles payments and receipts; explains patient financial obligations.
• Operates multiple computer programs including Epic, Passport, and Microsoft Office.
