Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, OH is seeking a Registration Clerk to greet patients and manage a smooth, accurate sign-in process. You will collect out-of-pocket payments, verify demographics and insurance details, and coordinate with hospital departments to ensure a patient-centered experience.
The ideal candidate has a High School diploma, some registration experience, and familiarity with medical terminology and CPT/ICD-10 coding.

Works under the supervision of the Supervisor of Emergency Department or Patient Supervisor. The Registrar's primary job function is to be responsible for greeting patients in a professional way and performing an orderly, efficient registration process, collecting out of pocket copays. Responsible for the safeguarding of the public relations of the hospital and confidentiality of its records by consistent professional conduct. Collects Required Medicare and Joint Commission Requirements. Reviews Medical Necessity, provides patient education related to the Registration Processes and Insurance Guidelines. Works with each Ancillary Departments of the hospital to ensure seamless excellent customer service is delivered. Answers questions and offers other information as requested to provide a patient focused sercice and positive impression of the organization. Performs other duties as assigned.
