Job summary

Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is seeking Registered Veterinary Technicians to support Animal Health Sciences teaching laboratories, including surgery and critical care lab. This position will assist with monitoring and evaluating students performing required veterinary technical skills such as animal handling, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia administration and monitoring, surgical prep and recovery.

The selected candidates will work under supervision of Dr.

Qualifications

• Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
• Licensed as a Registered Veterinary Technician in California
• Must demonstrate creativity, attention to detail, and the ability to meet project deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Support Animal Health Sciences teaching laboratories, including surgery and critical care lab.
• Monitor and evaluate students performing required veterinary technical skills (animal handling, venipuncture, IV catheter placement, anesthesia administration and monitoring, surgical prep and recovery).
• Assist with client and student communication, medical and lab equipment, and proper medical record documentation.
