Job description

Salary Range: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour. Salary is based on role, level, location and other factors.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to veterinarians in ensuring optimal care for clients' pets.
• Assist during treatments and procedures.
• Monitor critically ill or injured patients closely.
• Collaborate with the team for around‑the‑clock care and treatment coordination.
• Offer compassionate care and support to patients and owners.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Assist with diagnostic procedures such as bloodwork and imaging.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

• Communicate with pet owners regarding updates and treatment plans.
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition.

Qualifications

• Preferred: Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT); Senior Veterinary Assistant considered.
• At least 2 years of clinical experience.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Reliable mathematical calculation skills for drug doses, CRIs, invoices, estimates, etc.
• Maintain the California Veterinary Assistant Controlled Substance Permit (VACSP); must be obtained within 60 days of hire or transfer into this role unless holding a valid CA‑RVT license.
