Job summary

Long Beach Animal Emergency in California is seeking a Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join as part of the Thrive Pet Healthcare community. You will provide end-to-end care, from hands-on procedures and lab tests to admitting and discharging patients.

The role requires RVT licensure, overnight availability, and experience in emergency settings; opportunities for growth and access to Thrive resources are highlighted.

Qualifications

• Veterinary Technician Licensure required.
• 5 years of experience in emergency setting preferred.
• Able to explain doctor recommendations.
• Flexible schedule and ability to work overnights.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• RVT duties to include triage, CPR, drug calculations, CRIs, NG tubes, central line placement, IV catheter placements and other duties as assigned by hospital manager.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
