Job summary

ACCESS LA in Culver City, CA seeks a Registered Veterinary Technician specializing in anesthesia. The technician will support veterinarians, assist with surgeries, monitor anesthesia, and maintain patient records in a high-paced hospital with 24-hour emergency services.

Ideal candidates have an RVT license and experience with anesthesia protocols, post-anesthesia care, and soft tissue surgeries. Thrive Membership options and continuous education are emphasized within a large national network.

Qualifications

• RVT license required.
• Knowledge of anesthesia protocols including pre-anesthetic assessments, drug dosages, and post anesthesia care.
• Proficiency in monitoring equipment, administering anesthesia, and responding to anesthesia-related emergencies.
• Attention to detail and accurate patient records.
• Experience with soft tissue surgeries is preferred.
• Ability to collaborate in a dynamic team providing high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, educate clients.
• Assist veterinarians and medical team to maximize productivity and maintain patient flow.
• Assist with surgeries and procedures per state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed technicians.
• Communicate with clients about pet health concerns and Thrive Membership options, medications, and treatments.
• Maintain comprehensive medical records with practice systems.
• Obtain health histories and maintain medical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques and keep treatment areas clean and organized.
• Mentor and support fellow team members.

This position is eligible for:

• $5,000 Sign-On Bonus
• $2,500 retention bonus at 12 months
• $2,500 retention bonus at 24 monthsSubject to eligibility and bonus agreement terms.

Add that we have numerous specialty departments and it’s possible a tech’s day could involve a Macaw with a broken beak, time in one of our many advanced operating rooms, watching our Orthopedic Surgeons replace a dog’s elbow, or operating an MRI. It’s a long list of unique experiences best suited to those who absolutely love caring for sick or injured animals in a high-paced, renowned animal hospital.

Role Responsibilities

• Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
• With each hospital function,assistveterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity andmaintainpositive patient flow.
• Assistwith surgeries and proceduresin accordance withyour state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians.
• Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance onThrive Membershipoptions, medications, andadditionaltreatments.
• Assistinmaintainingrelevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
• Obtain relevant health history and information from clients andmaintainmedical charts.
• Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
• Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.

Experience & Skills Requirements

• *RVT license required
• *Understanding of anesthesia protocols including pre-anesthetic assessments, drug dosages, and post anesthesia care
• *Proficiency in monitoring equipment, administering anesthesia, and responding to anesthesia related emergencies
• *Attention to detail, ensuring precise dosages, monitoring vital signs, and maintaining detailed patient records
• * Have an established record of working extensively in soft tissue surgeries
• * Enjoy being a key player on a dynamic team providing the highest standard of patient care
