Boulevard Pet Hospital in Castro Valley, CA is seeking an experienced Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) to join our team. We are a full-service small-animal practice offering wellness, dentistry, diagnostics, surgery, and emergency care during business hours.

Qualifications

• Current RVT/LVT/CVT credential in good standing
• 3+ years of Veterinary Technician experience preferred
• Demonstrated experience with IV catheter placement, intubation, and dental cleanings
• Strong anesthesia monitoring and patient-care skills
• Excellent communication and client-service skills
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with the veterinary team
• Compassionate, dependable, and detail-oriented
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced general practice environment

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care for veterinary patients
• Place and maintain IV catheters
• Intubate and monitor patients under anesthesia
• Perform dental cleanings and assist with dental procedures
• Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and surgery
• Assist veterinarians with medical and surgical procedures
• Collect and process laboratory samples
• Monitor patients during anesthesia and provide appropriate recovery care
• Administer medications and treatments as directed
• Obtain and record patient histories, weights, and vital signs
• Educate clients regarding medications, treatments, and home‑care instructions
• Maintain accurate medical records and a clean, organized treatment area
